Overseas tour Day 155 – Seminyak meet up

Today was a ‘young’ Abingdonians meet up.

By a happy coincidence Rose, and her friend Ellie, the daughter of our old friends from NCT class, are travelling through Bali on their way to Australia and arranged to catch up.

We got together in a roof top cafe, in central Seminyak called Shelter, another find thanks to our friends at Tik Tok!

It was lovely to see them both and to hear about their travels through Thailand & Bali over the last 2 months. They are doing so well, as this is their first time going ‘solo’ & being outside of Europe.

Rose & Amelia

It was so lovely to see Rose and Amelia together, as they’ve known each other since birth, and were very close for much of their early years.

We enjoyed a relaxing catch up over smoothies, before the 4 girls went off together to find a yoghurt bar Amelia had found and wanted the others to try.

Instead we had a wander around the streets leading down to the sea, before relaxing on the beach and watching the horse riding tours meander past.

The late afternoon skys can be so vivid and make for some great photos as the sun sets – this is likely to be one of our lasting memories of this time in Bali.

Also it’s been the opportunity to spend time with Amelia before we move on to Malaysia and she travels on with Meg to Lombok.

With the girls happy to explore and do some shopping in the local area, we decided to treat ourselves to some comfort food and a pizza at Wild Habit, another great find on the main strip.

They’ve nailed it, such great pizza, basic ingredients done really well and a lovely chewy crust. Alongside a cool beer, there is little to beat this.

So another relaxing day done in Seminyak. We have 5 more with the girls before we head on to KL in Malaysia on Sunday and they start their tour of Bali and beyond.
